Journal RechtsVinding was first launched on January 2, 2012, as a platform for publishing scholarly works in the field of law by practitioners, researchers, and legal academics who have a strong interest in the development of national law. The name “RechtsVinding” reflects a school of legal thought that views law not merely as legislation, but neither solely as the sense of justice that emerges in society; rather, it is the dialectic between the two.

The term “RechtsVinding” is also often used in the judicial system to refer to “judicial discovery of law.” In this sense, a judge is positioned not merely as a mouthpiece of the law, but as a mediator between legislation and the sense of justice prevailing in society. Therefore, the scholarly ideas presented in JRV are expected to reflect the dialectical process between legislation and the sense of justice in society.

Journal RechtsVinding is published three times a year, in April, August, and December, by the Center for Legal Analysis and Evaluation of the National Law Development Agency (BPHN), Ministry of Law of the Republic of Indonesia.
